Lead, develop, and implement corporate legal strategy to advance the mission and vision of MeroAdda to advance legal domain in Nepal with digital interventions to promote and foster access to Law and Justice
Oversee delivery of the corporate legal services and resources to accomplish organizational strategy and priorities.
Responsible for handling all legal matters across the organization’s operations including and not limited to contract management, business management, corporate finance transactions, employment and labor related matters, intellectual property, litigation and disputes and other regulatory compliance matters.
Supervise and actively participate in different pro-bono legal services provided by the company.
Serve as a resource to all staff to listen and advise on work-related legal and ethical issues.
Supervise all the cases and assign to associates and paralegals as required and monitor the progress on a regular basis using the company’s case management system.
Supervise the ‘legal-literacy” contents being published via various social media platforms and other media platforms.
Supervise training (Contract drafting, Arbitration, Legal Drafting, etc.), workshops, and other mentoring sessions on legal topics, as required.
Provide feedback on the upgrades, new features and existing legal technology tools and software
Work with the management in retaining the best Lawyers, Paralegals, and continuously growing Legal network.
Define and monitor the budget of the Legal Team annually and revise quarterly, as required.
Work with counsel from other law firms, and non-profit agencies on legal issues of promoting democracy and access to law and justice. .
Maintain professional relations with educational institutions, private companies, non-profit organizations to further MeroAdda’s vision of fostering access to law and justice
Maintain proper interactions and relationships with the relevant local, state, and federal government bodies, legislatures, and the legal community.
Create and maintain a collaborative and professional working relationship with senior leadership, administration, and cross section departments.
Act as a spokesperson for MeroAdda leadership at all appropriate venues and platforms as required.
